A Brand New Chapter

They decided to meet in Texas. Amongst the swirling dust up of hipsters and cowboys, the couple were finally going to meet in person at a park in Austin. Months of internet correspondence, telephone calls, and handwritten letters had led them to a town which was strange to them both. "Keep Austin Weird", that was the city's motto and the perfect title for this chapter of their story.

As he sat on a bench in the shade of a large pecan tree, Joe's gaze wandered from face to face. She was late. He had traveled hundreds of miles to see her and she was late. The uncomfortable feeling that had settled into the pit of his stomach from the moment he left home began to rise up into his chest. His heart beat rapidly, speeding up whenever someone new came into view. "Is it how you pictured it? Like in your stories..." Her arms wrapped around him from behind and she nuzzled into the nape of his neck.
